HIKROBOT MV-CA016-10UM — Area Scan Cameras
1.6 MP, Sony IMX273, USB3.0, Mono, 249.1 fps

The MV-CA016-10UM brings the IMX273 sensor to a USB3.0 interface in mono output, reaching up to 249.1 fps at 1440 × 1080 in Mono8 – one of the fastest cameras in the series. It also offers a dual exposure structure: an ‘UltraShort’ mode from 1 to 14 μs alongside a standard mode from 15 μs to 10 sec, a feature not present on the GigE version of the same sensor. HIKROBOT also lists this model under ‘Delisting Preparation’.
The USB3.0 interface is compatible with USB2.0, with power supplied via 12 VDC or the USB3.0 line itself; a 6-pin Hirose connector carries the opto-isolated I/O set. M2 screw holes on the housing secure the USB3.0 cable, adding connector security on vibrating lines. USB3 Vision and GenICam compliance enable direct connectivity with MVS and third-party software.

Where it is used
The 249.1 fps rate and UltraShort exposure mode stand out for applications that need fast-moving objects captured without blur – such as counting and position checks on high-speed bottling or packaging lines. Mono output suits contrast-based defect detection. Its 56 g weight and compact housing ease mounting on moving axes or tight installation points.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
