HIKROBOT MV-CS120-10UC — Area Scan Cameras

The MV-CS120-10UC is the CS series’ 12 MP USB3 colour camera: a Bayer RG filtered Sony IMX226, 1/1.7-inch, 1.85 μm pixel, rolling shutter. It runs at 29.4 fps at 4024 × 3036 with 40.5 dB SNR and 70.5 dB dynamic range, and its 12 μs minimum exposure helps limit motion blur under strong illumination. Colour processing happens on the camera: YUV422, RGB 8 and BGR 8 outputs sit alongside raw Bayer RG 8/10/12, with white balance, LUT and Gamma adjustment available.

The camera is powered from the USB 3.0 port (typically 1.5 W at 5 VDC) and remains backward compatible with USB 2.0; the P7 connector accepts 9–24 VDC when external power is preferred. That same 6-pin connector carries the opto-isolated trigger input (Line 0), the opto-isolated output (Line 1) and the bi-directional Line 2. The 29 × 29 × 30 mm, roughly 80 g C-mount body mounts from any of four sides and works directly with software based on USB3 Vision and GenICam.

Where it is used

It is a candidate for benchtop and in-cell applications that need high-resolution colour images quickly: print colour and code verification on cosmetics and pharmaceutical packaging, colour-marker checks on boards and connectors, and shade deviation detection on woven or leather surfaces. At 29.4 fps several product positions can be captured in sequence. A single 12 MP colour frame is also useful when digitising manual visual inspection benches.

Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
