HIKROBOT MV-CS050-10GM V5 — Area Scan Cameras

MV-CS050-10GM V5 is the V5 version of the IMX264-based 5 MP monochrome GigE camera; it keeps the familiar image character of 24.2 fps at 2448 × 2048 in Mono 8 and 40 dB SNR, with the dynamic range specified at 71.4 dB. The 0–24 dB gain and two-mode exposure (1–14 μs UltraShort, 15 μs–10 s standard) are the same; the measurable difference of this version is power consumption, down to a typical 1.8 W at 12 VDC.
The Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Mbit/s) interface is compatible with Fast Ethernet (100 Mbit/s) and supports 100 m without a repeater; with 9–24 VDC or PoE supply, the low consumption eases installations where several cameras are fed from a single PoE switch. The 6-pin P7 connector offers one opto-isolated input, one opto-isolated output and one bidirectional line. The 29 × 29 × 42 mm body mounts from four sides, tolerates 80 °C storage and is GigE Vision V2.0/GenICam compliant; gain, exposure, white balance, LUT and gamma can be set automatically or manually.

Where it is used
Low power and PoE reduce cabling and heat load in multi-camera measurement and inspection cells, while the 5 MP monochrome image gives enough detail for edge-based dimensional checks, surface-defect detection and code reading. The UltraShort exposure mode supports sharp capture on vibrating or fast-advancing parts.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
