HIKROBOT MV-CS032-60GM — Area Scan Cameras
3.2 MP, Stacked BSI, GigE, Mono, 38.6 fps

The MV-CS032-60GM is a monochrome GigE camera in the 3.2 MP class that uses a stacked back-side illuminated (Stacked BSI) global-shutter sensor. With a 1/1.8-inch sensor and 3.45 μm × 3.45 μm pixels it provides 2048 × 1536 resolution; as a result of the sensor architecture the SNR reaches 42.4 dB, dynamic range reaches 73.9 dB and exposure can be shortened to 5 μs. At 38.6 fps it is the image-quality-oriented 3.2 MP option in the small and medium resolution family of the CS series.
On the integration side the Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Mbit/s) link offers up to 100 meters without a relay, is compatible with Fast Ethernet (100 Mbit/s) and can be powered over PoE; external supply is 9 VDC to 24 VDC and the typical draw is just 2.1 W at 12 VDC. Gain, exposure, LUT and Gamma can be adjusted automatically or manually, and the sequencer function applies different parameter sets to consecutive frames. The opto-isolated input (Line 0), opto-isolated output (Line 1) and bi-directional line (Line 2) on the P7 connector tie into the trigger chain; the 29 mm × 29 mm × 42 mm body mounts from four sides and conforms to GigE Vision V2.0 and GenICam.

Where it is used
42.4 dB SNR and 73.9 dB dynamic range matter in scenes where bright reflective metal and dark plastic share the same frame: burr and scratch inspection on machined metal parts, reading of laser-marked and embossed text, edge detection on glass and transparent packaging, and position measurement on semiconductor and electronic components. Exposure down to 5 μs keeps moving lines sharp, and with the sequencer the same part can be captured at several exposures in succession so difficult surfaces are evaluated in a single pass.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
