HIKROBOT MV-CS016-10UM — Area Scan Cameras

In the USB3.0 branch of the CS series, the MV-CS016-10UM is the second-generation monochrome model that pushes 1440 × 1080 to 249.1 fps with the Sony® IMX273. Its 71.1 dB dynamic range gives generous latitude for keeping bright and shaded regions in the same frame; SNR is 40 dB and gain 0–17 dB. The 3.45 μm pixels of the 1/2.9-inch global shutter sensor can be exposed from 1–14 μs in UltraShort mode or 15 μs to 10 s in standard mode.
The camera is powered over USB3.0 (typically 3.0 W at 5 VDC) and remains backward compatible with USB2.0; for external supply the P7 connector accepts 12–24 VDC. Hardware trigger, software trigger and free-run modes are all supported, with the opto-isolated input (Line 0), output (Line 1) and bi-directional Line 2 gathered on the same 6-pin connector. Sequencer, contrast ratio, white balance and gamma functions let camera settings change frame by frame in a predefined order; the 29 × 29 × 30 mm, roughly 80 g body mounts from four sides and runs with third-party software via USB3 Vision / GenICam.

Where it is used
249.1 fps provides enough temporal resolution for high-speed assembly machines where every station must be captured in its own frame, pick-and-place verification and fast counting. The wide dynamic range pays off in mixed-material inspection where shiny metal surfaces and dark plastic parts are judged in one image. With the sequencer, consecutive shots at different exposures can be taken from a single trigger to build multi-condition inspection.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
