HIKROBOT MV-CS016-10GM — Area Scan Cameras
1.6 MP, Sony IMX296, GigE, Mono, 65.2 fps

Built around the Sony® IMX296 in the 1.6 MP class, the MV-CS016-10GM stands out among the GigE monochrome members of the CS series for its exposure flexibility: 1 μs to 14 μs in UltraShort mode and 15 μs to 10 s in standard mode. The 1/2.9-inch global shutter CMOS delivers 1440 × 1080 pixels at 3.45 μm × 3.45 μm and 65.2 fps. With 41 dB SNR, 65.4 dB dynamic range and gain reaching 24 dB, it leaves ample headroom for clean images in low light.
Gigabit Ethernet allows cable runs up to 100 m without a relay and remains compatible with Fast Ethernet, which simplifies placing the camera at remote points. On this model power and I/O arrive through a 6-pin Hirose connector: an opto-isolated input (Line 0), an opto-isolated output (Line 1) and a bi-directional non-isolated line (Line 2); supply is 9–24 VDC or PoE, drawing typically 2.4 W at 12 VDC. Noise reduction, a color correction matrix and automatic or manual gain, exposure, LUT, gamma and white balance are handled in-camera; the 29 × 29 × 42 mm housing has mounting holes on four sides, and GigE Vision V2.0 / GenICam support opens it to third-party software.

Where it is used
Microsecond-level exposures unlock applications where fast-rotating or vibrating parts must be frozen without blur: cutting-tool inspection, fill-level detection on high-speed filling lines, spray and droplet observation. The 1440 × 1080 resolution with 41 dB SNR gives dependable greyscale data for edge measurement on small parts and surface defect search. Exposures up to 10 seconds, at the other end, serve dimly lit scientific setups and in-cabinet inspections with weak illumination.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
