The Telemecanique XS8E1A1MAL2 is a 2-wire inductive proximity sensor from the XS8 series in flat form 26×26×13 mm. It operates on 24–240 V AC/DC (50/60 Hz) with limits of 20–264 V AC/DC. The data sheet gives a nominal sensing distance of 15 mm when non-flush mounted and 10 mm when flush mounted; the fine adjustment zone is 5–15 mm and 5–10 mm respectively. The output is normally open (1 NO) and switches a load current of 5–200 mA AC/DC. The enclosure and sensing face are PBT.
The switching frequency reaches 2000 Hz. Residual current in the open state is at most 1.5 mA and the voltage drop in the closed state is below 5.5 V; no-load current consumption is at most 10 mA. Connection is by a 2 m PVC cable, 2 × 0.34 mm². The enclosure is IP68 with double insulation (IEC 60529); operating temperature is -25 °C to +70 °C. Minimum distances: flush 40 mm side by side, 80 mm face to face, 10 mm facing metal; non-flush 150 mm and 300 mm.
