Request a quote and stock checkThe HIKROBOT MV-CT0MU0016/G/NN/NN is a BASE-level model in the CT series of USB3.0 area scan cameras. Its 1/2.9″ stacked BSI global shutter CMOS sensor, with a 3.45 µm pixel size, captures mono images at 1440 x 1080 resolution and up to 249 frames per second. A 61 dB dynamic range and 44 dB signal-to-noise ratio keep detail visible on low-contrast surfaces and under varying light. Exposure as short as 23 µs lets the camera freeze fast-moving parts on the line without motion blur.
The camera connects over a USB 3.0 interface through a Type-C connector, and its compact 29 x 29 x 30 mm, roughly 72 g body draws just 1.4 W at 5 VDC directly from the USB line, so no separate power supply is needed. With the lens and cabling correctly installed it carries an IP40 rating. GenICam compliance lets it work directly with HIKROBOT MVS or with third-party machine vision software supporting the same standard. The CT series’ PRO and MAX variants add an integrated lens/light source and higher-grade waterproofing and temperature tolerance; this BASE model instead keeps things compact and cost-effective for entry-level setups.

Key features
- Integrated lens and illumination. The MAX version integrates the lens and light source into the body; lens focusing and illumination control are handled from the camera.
- High-bandwidth Type-C. The Type-C interface supports higher transmission bandwidth.
- Open standard compliance. Works seamlessly with the USB3 Vision protocol, the GenICam standard and third-party software built on them.
- Waterproof connection. PRO and MAX versions use a waterproof connector; IP67 is reached when correctly installed.
- Precision temperature control. PRO and MAX versions include a precision temperature control design for fast heat balance, which keeps measurement stable over long cycles.
- Automatic colour correction. Colour models of the PRO and MAX versions support auto colour correction based on multi-spectral fusion technology. (This model is mono; the feature applies to its colour counterpart.)
Where it is used
Because its global shutter sensor freezes moving objects without distortion, this camera is a natural fit for in-line visual inspection. The combination of a high frame rate and short exposure time suits counting, positioning and presence/absence checks on fast-moving parts. At 1440 x 1080, resolution is sufficient for mid-scale part and surface inspection. Its compact body and USB 3.0 connection make it easy to deploy across a range of setups, from benchtop test stations to automation cells mounted directly on the production line.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, line speed and surface characteristics. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
