CX-411 is the thru-beam model of Panasonic’s CX-400 Ver.2 compact photoelectric sensor series. The emitter and receiver are separate units mounted facing each other; the output changes when the red LED (680 nm) beam between them is interrupted. It detects opaque objects of Ø12 mm or more at a sensing range of 10 m; with the optional round slit mask fitted, objects of Ø0.5 mm can be detected.
The output is ordered as NPN open-collector (CX-411) or PNP open-collector (CX-411-P); Light-ON / Dark-ON operation is switchable, response time is 1 ms or less and short-circuit protection is incorporated. Sensitivity is continuously adjustable on the receiver. Two units can be mounted close together with interference prevention filters (sensing range 5 m in that case). It comes with a PBT enclosure, IP67 protection and a 2 m cable, which can be extended up to a total of 100 m with 0.3 mm² or thicker cable.
