PANASONIC AMG8853 — Thermal Array Sensors
Panasonic AMG8853: thermal array sensor, 8×8 pixels, 60° viewing angle; 5.0 V, high gain, 0–80 °C object range, I²C output.

Status: In production
Brand: Panasonic
Product: Thermal array sensor, 8×8 pixels, 60° viewing angle, 5.0 V, high gain
Pixels: 8 × 8 = 64
Viewing angle: 60° (typ.)
Measuring object temperature: 0 °C to 80 °C
Applied voltage: 5.0 V ± 0.5 V DC
Output: I²C digital temperature value
Panasonic AMG8853 is a high-gain Grid-EYE sensor of the high performance type operating from a 5.0 V ± 0.5 V supply. The absolute maximum applied voltage is 6.5 V. With its 64-pixel (8 × 8) thermopile array the sensor produces a two-dimensional temperature map without touching the object; in high gain the measuring object temperature range is 0–80 °C and the temperature accuracy is typ. ±2.5 °C. The viewing angle is 60° horizontally and vertically.
Temperature values are read over I²C with 0.25 °C resolution; in calculate mode either no moving average or twice moving average can be selected. The built-in thermistor provides a reference from −20 °C to 80 °C with 0.0625 °C resolution. Drawing typ. 4.5 mA in normal mode, the sensor drops to 0.2 mA in sleep mode. Operating temperature range is 0–80 °C and the package measures 11.6 × 8.0 × 4.3 mm; parts are delivered on tape reels of 1000 pieces.
