AMG8834 is the low-gain model of the Panasonic Grid-EYE high performance type with a 3.3 V supply. Low gain extends the measuring object temperature range to −20 °C to 100 °C; for this model the temperature accuracy is specified as typ. ±3.0 °C. The 8 × 8 array of 64 thermopile pixels detects the temperature distribution within its 60° field of view without contact and transmits each pixel temperature value digitally over the I²C interface.

In the low-gain version the operating temperature range is also −20 °C to 80 °C; the storage range is the same. The supply is 3.3 V ± 0.3 V and current consumption is typ. 4.5 mA in normal mode and 0.2 mA in sleep mode. The datasheet gives a noise equivalent temperature difference of 0.05 K at 1 fps and 0.16 K at 10 fps. Output resolution is 0.25 °C and two different I²C addresses can be selected. The package is an 11.6 × 8.0 × 4.3 mm surface-mount type.
