The Telemecanique XUSL4E14F is a Type 4 safety light curtain conforming to IEC 61496-1, designed for finger protection with a 14 mm resolution. The sensing distance is selected by wiring as 0–3 m or 1–6 m. The family includes the XUSL4E14F016N with a 160 mm protected height and 15 beams, and the XUSL4E14F046N with a 460 mm protected height and 45 beams. Response time is 4 ms or 7.5 ms depending on the model. Correctly wired, it conforms to category 4 and PL e to ISO 13849-1, SIL 3 to IEC 61508 and SILCL 3 to IEC 62061.
The receiver provides two solid-state PNP OSSD safety outputs with arc suppression, each limited to 0.4 A. Supply voltage is 24 V DC ±20 %. The transmitter connects via a 5-pin and the receiver via an 8-pin M12 male connector. Start/restart mode (manual or automatic) and external device monitoring (EDM) are selected by wiring. Functions include test, muting through the external safety module XPSLCMUT1160, and LED display of operating modes and faults. The casing is aluminium with a polycarbonate front panel, rated IP65 and IP67.
