The Telemecanique XUSL2E30H046N is a Type 2 safety light curtain conforming to IEC 61496-1, designed for hand protection with a 30 mm resolution. It has 23 beams over a 460 mm protected height and a response time of 8 ms. It uses a transmitter-receiver system; the sensing distance is selected by wiring as 0–4 m or 0–12 m. The effective aperture angle is 5° at 3 m. Correctly wired, it conforms to category 2 and PL c to ISO 13849-1, SIL 1 to IEC 61508 and SILCL 1 to IEC 62061, with a PFHd of 3.30E-8 1/h.
The receiver provides two solid-state PNP OSSD safety outputs with arc suppression, limited to 0.4 A each; supply voltage is 24 V DC ±20 %. The transmitter connects via a 5-pin and the receiver via an 8-pin M12 male connector. Start/restart mode (manual or automatic) and external device monitoring (EDM) are selected by wiring. Functions include test, muting through the external safety module XPSLCMUT1160 and LED display of operating modes and faults. The aluminium casing is red RAL 3000, rated IP65 and IP67, with a net weight of 1 kg.
