The Panasonic SF2C-H is the hand protection type of the ultra-slim SF2C series: it detects opaque objects of ø25 mm with a 20 mm beam pitch at 0.1–3 m. It is Type 2 to IEC 61496-1/2, Category 2, PL c to ISO 13849-1:2015 and SIL 1 to IEC 61508. 7 models cover protective heights of 160–640 mm; the OFF response time is 20 ms or less on every model and the manufacturer states a safety distance of 128 mm (ISO 13855 calculation). There is no external device monitoring function.
Thanks to optical synchronization, the emitter and receiver each need only five wires; the 3 m cable can be extended up to 50 m. The effective aperture angle is ±5° or less at 3 m. The laser-welded resin body is rated IP67 / IP65, and the stainless steel mounting bracket comes preinstalled. The large multi-purpose indicators on both sides light or blink in orange via external input. Lockout output (SSD), interference prevention and test input are provided. Separate models with PNP (-P) and NPN (-N) output are offered.
