XGFEC540 and XGFEC2525 are Telemecanique OsiSense XG field expanders for the XGCS4901201 compact smart antenna. A connection-free inductive link between antenna and expander adapts the shape of the antenna’s dialogue field to conveying and handling applications. XGFEC540 is the conveying type: 400 × 23 × 50 mm, mounted between two conveyor rollers, it detects tags on a narrow strip across the conveyor width with a nominal sensing distance of 30–90 mm. XGFEC2525 is the universal type: it measures 250 × 250 × 10 mm and increases the detection area and distance to 26–150 mm.
The expanders work with ISO 15693 tags only and are not compatible with ISO 14443 tags. XGFEC540 is used with the XGHB90E340, XGHB520246, XGHB320345, XGHB320246 and XGHB440245 tags; XGFEC2525 additionally with XGHB221346. The sensing distance depends on the tag: with XGFEC540 it is 90 mm for XGHB90E340 and 70 mm for XGHB520246; with XGFEC2525 it is 150 mm for both tags. According to the manufacturer, XGFEC2525 enables higher passing speeds of the tags because it enlarges the detection area. Both models are attached to the XGCS4901201 antenna with 4 × M4 screws (included).
