The Omron D4N is a series of miniature safety limit switches with a plastic housing. It is intended for standard mechanical position detection in safety and non-safety applications. The NC contacts of the built-in switch have a direct opening mechanism approved to EN60947-5-1: even if a contact is welded, the contacts are forcibly separated when the plunger is pushed in. The housing is double insulated (Class II) and rated IP67. The lineup includes snap-action and slow-action models with Zb contacts, with 1NC/1NO, 2NC, 2NC/1NO, 3NC and MBB contact options. Gold-clad contacts suit standard loads and microloads.
Actuator options include roller lever (resin or metal lever; resin, metal or bearing roller), adjustable roller lever with form lock, plunger, roller plunger, one-way roller arm lever, cat whisker, plastic rod and fork lever lock. Conduit openings are available as Pg13.5, G1/2, 1/2-14NPT or M20 (1 or 2 conduits); M12-connector models save wiring. The head can be turned to any of four directions; the lever can be set within 360° in 7.5° steps, and grooves on lever and shaft prevent slipping. The rated thermal current is 10 A and AC-15 is 3 A at 240 V.
