HIKROBOT MV-SC6120M-00C-NNN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The MV-SC6120M-00C-NNN shares the same 12MP resolution and C-Mount body as its colour sibling but uses a monochrome sensor instead; it has the same 4096 × 2944 resolution, 1/1.1″ optical format and global-shutter CMOS architecture. Without a colour-filter layer, the mono sensor delivers higher effective resolution and contrast for the same amount of light.

Because the pixel format is Mono8 only, the data volume to be processed is smaller than on the colour model, which helps algorithms running on VisionMaster (VM) — particularly edge-based measurement and OCR/code reading — execute faster. The C-Mount interface, power draw and I/O layout are identical to the colour variant; the only difference is the sensor type.

Where it is used

It is preferred for applications where colour discrimination is not important but maximum positional accuracy and contrast are, such as dimensional measurement on metal parts, weld-seam inspection, direct part marking (DPM) code reading, or text/character recognition (OCR). With the appropriate C-Mount lens, this mono platform can be deployed on measurement stations at both close and long working distances.

Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
