HIKROBOT MV-SC5020XC-00C-NNN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The MV-SC5020XC-00C-NNN is the C-Mount variant of the SC5000X family, capturing color images through a 2-megapixel (1600×1216) global-shutter CMOS sensor with 3.45 µm pixels. Because it accepts external lenses, integrators can freely match the optics to whatever working distance or field of view the application calls for. Running the VisionMaster (VM) platform with its built-in deep-learning module, the unit performs the full inspection pipeline on-board rather than relying on an external PC.

It talks to PLCs and SCADA systems directly over TCP, UDP, ModBus, RS-232, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Fins, MC and FTP. The 12-pin M12 connector carries power alongside 3 opto-isolated inputs, 3 opto-isolated outputs and an RS-232 line, while image data moves over Gigabit Ethernet. 8 GB of memory and 64 GB of onboard storage give it room to run demanding algorithms and log images locally.

Where it is used

Because the lens is user-selectable, this camera fits lines where the working distance varies from station to station — logistics sorting cells reading labels on boxes and pallets of different sizes are a typical fit. Its color sensor is well suited to print and label verification, color-based product sorting and packaging quality checks where hue matters. The standalone decision-making capability also makes it a candidate for end-of-line inspection stations that don’t have a PLC in the loop.

Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
