HIKROBOT MV-SC5020XM-00C-NNN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The MV-SC5020XM-00C-NNN shares the SC5000X platform but carries a monochrome sensor in the same C-Mount housing. Without color filtering, the 1600×1216 global-shutter CMOS sensor typically delivers higher contrast and light sensitivity, an advantage for tasks that hinge on brightness differences rather than hue — text reading and edge or flaw detection among them. The open C-Mount interface again leaves lens selection entirely up to the integrator.

A gain range of 0–37 dB combined with exposure times adjustable from 15 µs to 1 second lets it handle both fast-moving lines and dimly lit scenes. Paired with frame rates up to 100 fps and the deep-learning module inside VisionMaster, the camera can run demanding real-time defect classification on high-speed lines. It retains the same M12/Gigabit Ethernet backbone as the color variant.

The monochrome sensor is a natural fit for contrast-driven, color-independent inspections: metal surface defect detection, character reading/verification (OCR/OCV), and edge or dimension measurement. It also suits component-placement and solder-joint checks on electronics and semiconductor assembly lines. The wide exposure range keeps results stable even on lines where ambient lighting fluctuates.

Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
