HIKROBOT MV-SC2016EC-12S-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The HIKROBOT MV-SC2016EC-12S-WBN is the 12 mm fixed-lens colour model of the SC2000E series of smart cameras (vision sensors). Its 1/2.9″ optical format, global shutter CMOS sensor with 3.45 µm × 3.45 µm pixels delivers 1408 × 1024 resolution images at up to 60 fps. Gain is adjustable from 0 dB to 15 dB and exposure time from 16 µs to 1 s; the pixel format supports both Mono 8 and RGB 8. As a smart camera that integrates the imaging sensor, processor and vision software in a single housing, it can run standalone without an external PC or controller. Focusing is manual through the M12 lens mount, with a focal length of 12.4 mm on this model. Its compact 46 mm × 57.6 mm × 25 mm housing and approximate weight of 220 g allow it to be fitted into tight installation spaces.

The global shutter CMOS sensor supports both Mono 8 and RGB 8 pixel formats, enabling inspection based on both brightness and color information. The M12-mount 12.4 mm lens offers a narrower field of view than the 8 mm variant in exchange for a more detailed image at medium range, useful for code reading or color/pattern checks on medium-sized colored parts. The camera connects to upstream systems via RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, FINS, MELSEC/SLMP and Keyence KV, with data transferred over 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet; up to 8 plans and 40 modules can be stored and imported/exported. The IP65-rated housing measures 46 mm × 57.6 mm × 25 mm with integrated white light and weighs approximately 220 g.

Where it is used

The 12.4 mm lens’s moderate field of view and medium working distance offer a balanced solution for lines where barcode reading and color/pattern verification of standard-sized colored parts happen at the same station. It covers a more focused area than the 8 mm model and a wider one than the 15 mm model, letting a single camera handle both code reading and color checking at medium range without extra hardware.
