HIKROBOT MV-SC2016EM-15S-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The HIKROBOT MV-SC2016EM-15S-WBN is the 15 mm fixed-lens mono model of the SC2000E series of smart cameras. Its 1/2.9″ optical format, global shutter CMOS sensor with 3.45 µm × 3.45 µm pixels delivers 1408 × 1024 resolution images at up to 60 fps. Gain is adjustable from 0 dB to 15 dB and exposure time from 16 µs to 1 s; the pixel format is Mono 8. As a smart camera integrating the imaging sensor, processor and vision software in one housing, it can run standalone without an external PC or controller. Focusing is manual through the M12 lens mount, with a focal length of 14.8 mm on this model. Its compact 46 mm × 57.6 mm × 25 mm housing and approximate weight of 220 g allow it to be fitted into tight installation spaces.

The 14.8 mm fixed lens, manually focused via the M12 mount, delivers a narrow field of view and a long working distance, making it suitable for stations where the camera cannot be mounted close to the line or where small details need to be examined from a distance with magnification. Image and control data reach upstream systems over RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, FINS, MELSEC/SLMP and Keyence KV via a 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet interface. Up to 8 inspection plans and 40 modules can be stored on the camera, with import/export support for quick switching between product variants. The IP65-rated 46 mm × 57.6 mm × 25 mm housing with integrated white light weighs approximately 220 g.

Where it is used

With a narrow field of view and long working distance, the 14.8 mm lens is preferred for stations where the camera cannot be installed close to the line for safety or access reasons, for reading small labels/characters, or for precise position checks from a distance. It covers a more limited area than the wide-angle variants but resolves distant objects in greater detail; this lets parts mounted high up or in hard-to-reach spots be inspected remotely without the camera obstructing the line.

Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
