HIKROBOT MV-SC2004EC-08S-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The HIKROBOT MV-SC2004EC-08S-WBN is a color imaging model in the SC2000E series of vision sensors. Its 1/2.9″ optical format, global shutter CMOS sensor with 6.9 µm × 6.9 µm pixels delivers 704 × 540 resolution at up to 60 fps. Gain is adjustable from 0 dB to 15 dB and exposure time from 16 µs to 1 s, a wide range that supports clear imaging both in low light and with fast-moving objects. Images can be output in Mono 8 or RGB 8 pixel format. The unit ships with an 8 mm, M12-mount manual-focus lens and a white light source; its compact 46 mm × 57.6 mm × 25 mm body weighs approximately 220 g. An IP65 protection rating and a 0 °C to 50 °C operating range make it suitable for industrial environments, and it carries CE and KC certification.

Supporting both Mono 8 and RGB 8 pixel formats, the camera performs color imaging alongside vision tools such as blob analysis, color matching, pattern recognition and OCR, with storage for up to 8 programs and 40 modules for flexibility across multi-product lines. Its 8 mm focal length, the widest angle in the color series, delivers a wide field of view and short working distance, allowing large parts to be evaluated in color within a single frame even in confined installation spaces. Integration with PLC/SCADA systems is provided over RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, FINS, MELSEC/SLMP and Keyence KV through a 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet interface. A white light source, compact 46 × 57.6 × 25 mm housing weighing approximately 220 g, and IP65 protection complete the package.

Where it is used

Where color differentiation is required and the camera-to-part distance is constrained, the wide field of view from the 8 mm focal length makes this model the right fit — for instance, verifying pack color or labels, batch-checking multicolor components in tight cells, or inspecting printed color graphics on boxes and pallets at close range. Its short working distance makes color inspection possible even in shallow, depth-limited stations where longer lenses would not fit.
