The MV-CU060-10UC is the model that brings 6 MP color imaging together with 59.6 fps in the USB3.0 branch of the CU series; its Sony IMX178 rolling-shutter CMOS in 1/1.8″ format, with 2.4 μm × 2.4 μm pixels and 3072 × 2048 resolution, outputs Bayer RG 8. A 41.5 dB SNR with 66.4 dB dynamic range keeps color separation from being affected by noise, and an exposure span from 8 μs to 1 s leaves room to tune from fast motion to static scenes. Compared with its GigE color sibling at the same resolution, the frame rate is close to three times higher, which defines this model’s character.
Connection is over USB3.0 with USB2.0 compatibility, and a typical 1.9 W draw on 5 VDC USB3.0 supply allows operation without an external adapter (a 9–24 VDC input is also provided). The 6-pin P7 connector hosts Line 0 as opto-isolated input, Line 1 as opto-isolated output and Line 2 as bi-directional non-isolated I/O; hardware trigger, software trigger and free-run are supported, and ROI-based frame-rate increase plus binning are handled in the camera. The IP40-rated 29 mm × 29 mm × 30 mm C-mount body weighs about 76 g, and USB3 Vision and GenICam compliance lets third-party vision software recognize it directly.

Where it is used
Fast color imaging pays off where color-based decisions are made on moving products: catching color shift and print faults on printing and labeling lines, detecting color and blemishes in fruit, vegetable and grain sorting machines, and filling lines that verify colored caps and stoppers. The 6 MP resolution lets small print characters and color marks be read together in the same frame. The USB-powered compact body also meets the need for a color camera mounted on a robot arm or a moving slide.
