The MV-CU050-90UC is a 5 MP color area scan camera in the cost-effective USB3.0 branch of the CU series, built around the 1/2″ GMAX2505 CMOS sensor with a global shutter; its 2.5 μm × 2.5 μm pixels deliver 2600 × 2160 at 59.8 fps in Bayer BG 8. What sets it apart is the pairing of a global shutter with an exposure time that can be shortened to 3 μs, which lets moving objects be captured in color without motion blur. HIKROBOT currently lists this model as being in delisting preparation, so availability for new projects should be confirmed with FST.
Connection is via USB3.0 with backward compatibility to USB2.0, and the camera can draw both data and power from a single cable at a typical 2.2 W on 5 VDC USB3.0 supply; a 9–24 VDC external input is also available. The 6-pin P7 connector carries one opto-isolated input (Line 0), one opto-isolated output (Line 1) and one bi-directional non-isolated I/O (Line 2). At 29 mm × 29 mm × 35.6 mm and roughly 94 g with a C-mount, the housing fits tight spaces, while USB3 Vision and GenICam compliance keeps it compatible with third-party software; customized ROI and horizontal/vertical image reversal are supported on the camera side.

Where it is used
Combining 5 MP color resolution with 59.8 fps makes this camera a fit for lines where parts move quickly and color carries information: color-critical packaging and label print checks, wire and connector color-code verification, and color-based sorting of food products. The global shutter delivers geometrically undistorted images of items that pass a rotary table or conveyor without stopping, which helps in position and integrity checks on caps, cartons and blisters. On bench-top test rigs and laboratory setups it also serves as a compact color camera powered directly from USB.
