The MV-CU016-10GC is the color member of the 1.6 MP class in the cost-effective CU series GigE family; its 1/2.9-inch Sony IMX296 global shutter CMOS sensor delivers 1440 × 1080 resolution at 65.8 fps in Bayer RG 8. A 41 dB SNR and 74 dB dynamic range help it hold color information in scenes that mix bright and dark regions. The PoE option called out in the product name makes it a natural pick for anyone who wants a compact color camera fed by a single cable.
The Gigabit Ethernet interface is backward compatible with Fast Ethernet and, as the manufacturer states, carries data up to 100 meters without a repeater; with the PoE option, power and data share one Ethernet cable, otherwise 9–24 VDC is supplied through the 6-pin P7 connector. That same connector exposes one opto-isolated input (Line 0), one opto-isolated output (Line 1) and one bi-directional non-isolated I/O (Line 2), and the camera supports hardware trigger, software trigger and free-run modes. The 29 × 29 × 42 mm housing, roughly 100 g weight and C-mount fit tight spaces, while GigE Vision V2.0 and GenICam compliance lets it work with third-party software built on those standards.

Where it is used
It suits packaging and label checks where color is the decision criterion, verifying that a product is the correct color variant, and quick sorting tasks such as cap-to-body color matching. The 65.8 fps rate is enough to image every item individually on a medium-speed conveyor. The 1–14 μs UltraShort exposure mode can be used where motion blur on moving objects needs to be kept in check.
