Panasonic AMG883642 is the surface-mount version of the Grid-EYE narrow angle type and is powered from 3.3 V ± 0.3 V. The suffix 642 in the part number defines a field of view of typ. 35.6° horizontally and vertically. The 8 × 8 array of 64 thermopile pixels measures the temperature of this narrow area without contact and outputs the values digitally over the I²C interface. The measuring object temperature range is −20 °C to 100 °C and temperature accuracy is typ. ±3.0 °C.

For this model the noise equivalent temperature difference is typ. 0.11 K at 1 fps and 0.35 K at 10 fps. Operating and storage temperature ranges are −20 °C to 80 °C. Current consumption is typ. 4.5 mA in normal mode and 0.2 mA in sleep mode. The package measures 11.6 × 8.0 × 5.93 mm, is suitable for reflow mounting and is supplied with 800 pieces per reel. Two I²C addresses can be selected; the series table lists it as low gain.
