PANASONIC AMG8854 — Thermal Array Sensors
Panasonic AMG8854: thermal array sensor, 8×8 pixels, 60° viewing angle; 5.0 V, low gain, −20–100 °C object range, I²C output.

Status: In production
Brand: Panasonic
Product: Thermal array sensor, 8×8 pixels, 60° viewing angle, 5.0 V, low gain
Pixels: 8 × 8 = 64
Viewing angle: 60° (typ.)
Measuring object temperature: −20 °C to 100 °C
Applied voltage: 5.0 V ± 0.5 V DC
Output: I²C digital temperature value
AMG8854 is the model in the high performance type Grid-EYE family that combines a 5.0 V supply with low gain. It can measure object temperatures from −20 °C to 100 °C and operates in ambient temperatures from −20 °C to 80 °C. Temperature accuracy is typ. ±3.0 °C. The 64 thermopile pixels in an 8 × 8 layout detect the heat distribution within the 60° viewing angle without contact; the temperature value of each pixel is read digitally over I²C.
The supply voltage is 5.0 V ± 0.5 V; communication is enabled typ. 50 ms after setup and the output stabilizes within typ. 15 s. The frame rate is 1 or 10 fps, with a noise equivalent temperature difference of 0.05 K and 0.16 K respectively. In sleep mode detection is switched off and current consumption drops to typ. 0.2 mA. The 11.6 × 8.0 × 4.3 mm surface-mount package is RoHS compliant and suitable for reflow mounting.
