PANASONIC AMG8833 — Thermal Array Sensors
Panasonic AMG8833: thermal array sensor, 8×8 pixels, 60° viewing angle; 3.3 V, high gain, 0–80 °C object range, I²C output.

Status: In production
Brand: Panasonic
Product: Thermal array sensor, 8×8 pixels, 60° viewing angle, 3.3 V, high gain
Pixels: 8 × 8 = 64
Viewing angle: 60° (typ.)
Measuring object temperature: 0 °C to 80 °C
Applied voltage: 3.3 V ± 0.3 V DC
Output: I²C digital temperature value
Panasonic AMG8833 is the Grid-EYE high performance type model that combines a 3.3 V supply with high gain. Its 64 thermopile pixels, arranged as a vertical 8 × horizontal 8 matrix, measure the temperature of a two-dimensional area without contact and deliver each pixel value digitally over the I²C interface. In the high-gain setting the measuring object temperature range is 0–80 °C and the temperature accuracy is typ. ±2.5 °C; the 60° viewing angle is the same horizontally and vertically.
The supply voltage is 3.3 V ± 0.3 V; current consumption is typ. 4.5 mA in normal mode and 0.2 mA in sleep mode. The frame rate can be set to 1 or 10 fps; the noise equivalent temperature difference is 0.05 K at 1 fps and 0.16 K at 10 fps. Temperature output resolution is 0.25 °C. The 11.6 × 8.0 × 4.3 mm surface-mount package is suitable for reflow mounting and is supplied on reels of 1000 pieces. Operating temperature range is 0–80 °C.
