The Omron E6F-A is a rugged absolute rotary encoder with a 60 mm diameter housing and a 10 mm shaft. Gray code models provide 256, 360, 720 or 1,024 positions per rotation (up to 10-bit), and BCD models provide 360. The strong shaft accepts 120 N radial and 50 N thrust load, and the construction is rated IP65 and oil-proof. The maximum response frequency is 20 kHz for Gray code and 10 kHz for BCD.
Outputs are NPN open collector with negative logic or PNP open collector with positive logic. BCD models with NPN output are available for 5–12 V DC or 12–24 V DC, and all other models operate on 12–24 V DC; current consumption is 60 mA max. The E6F-AG5C-C connector model is designed for connection to the H8PS cam positioner. The case is zinc alloy, the standard cable length is 2 m, and a servo mounting bracket is supplied with the product.
