The Omron E6A2-C is a compact incremental rotary encoder with a 25 mm diameter housing and a 4 mm shaft. Resolutions range from 10 to 500 pulses per rotation. Versions are available with phase A only, phases A and B, or phases A, B and Z, each with an NPN open-collector output or a voltage output. The supply voltage is 5–12 V DC or 12–24 V DC depending on the model, and the maximum response frequency is 30 kHz.
The shaft accepts 10 N radial and 50 N thrust load, and the maximum permissible speed is 5,000 r/min. The case is aluminium alloy with a SUS420J2 stainless steel shaft; the packed weight is approx. 35 g. The degree of protection is IP50, with no protection against water or oil, and the operating temperature range is -10 to 55 °C. Models are pre-wired with a standard 0.5 m cable. The E69-C04B coupling is supplied with the product, and E6A2-CWZ models also include a servo mounting bracket.
