An edge PC collects and pre-processes data at its source — on site, next to the machine or sensor — sending only summarized data on to the cloud or central server. Advantech’s edge computer family is led by the DIN-rail mounted UNO-100 series: fanless computers with isolated I/O, low power consumption and iDoor / PCIe expansion, built for machine automation, cobot and smart-city gateway applications. Expansion needs, processing power and mounting method are chosen to match the application.
