The Telemecanique XS4P12PA340 is an XS4-family inductive proximity sensor of the XS range with a cylindrical M12 x 1 threaded body. It is non-flush mountable; in a metal support the data sheet requires d ≥ 36 mm and h ≥ 8 mm. Nominal sensing distance (Sn) is 4 mm, with an operating zone of 0–3.2 mm. Enclosure is PPS plastic, sensing face PPS; length 35 mm, threaded length 25 mm, net weight 0.06 kg. Differential travel is 1–15 % of the effective sensing distance; switching frequency is up to 5000 Hz.
Supply is 12–24 V DC (limits 10–36 V DC) with reverse polarity protection. The PNP 1 NO output switches up to 200 mA with overload and short-circuit protection; closed-state voltage drop is below 2 V and no-load current consumption is at most 10 mA. Connection is via a 2 m PVC-insulated 3 x 0.34 mm² cable; a yellow LED shows the output state. Degree of protection is IP68 double insulation (IEC 60529); operating temperature is -25 to +70 °C. Certifications: Ecolab, CSA and UL.
