The Omron D40A is a compact non-contact safety door switch consisting of a switch and an actuator. It uses an electronic detection mechanism instead of reed switches, so detection stays stable even when a door is closed slowly. It is a Type 4 interlocking device with low-level coding according to EN ISO 14119 and complies with EN ISO 13849-1 PL d / Category 3. The switch must be used with a G9SX-NS non-contact door switch controller or a G9SP safety controller; up to 30 switches can be connected to one controller.
A two-color LED on the switch lights red when the actuator is not detected and yellow when it is detected. The actuator is smaller than the switch, and the switch can be mounted from either side of the door. A 1 NO auxiliary output (PNP open-collector, 24 V DC 10 mA) can be used to show which door is open. The housing is PBT resin, mounted with M4 screws and rated IP67. Besides the 2 m and 5 m cable models there is a model with a 0.15 m pigtail and M12 5-pole connector, so the cable length can be chosen separately.
