Non-Flush Cylindrical Inductive Sensors
Cylindrical sensors offering longer sensing range than the flush type, but requiring clearance around the housing.
The non-flush (unshielded) type requires no metal around the sensing face, but in return offers nearly double the sensing distance of the flush type in the same housing size. Panasonic’s GX-30xML series, Omron’s E2A series, and Telemecanique’s XS2/XS4/XS6 series non-flush cylindrical sensors are preferred where there is no risk of metal interference around the mounting area. Sensing distance and required mounting clearance are chosen to match the application.
Panasonic GX-300 series — non-flush cylindrical models (8)
The non-flush (ML/MLK) models of Panasonic’s GX-300 series offer a longer sensing distance than the flush model of the same diameter because the sensing field also extends around the sides of the housing; M8-M30 threaded body, standard (ML) and long-range (MLK) versions. The PNP/NO versions also work over IO-Link. Each base model has four output variants (-A-N NPN NO, -B-N NPN NC, -A-P PNP NO, -B-P PNP NC); a 2 m cable is standard, with -C5 5 m, -J pigtail and -Z M12 connector options in the model table.
