Retro-Reflective Sensors

Sensors that combine the emitter and receiver in one housing and measure light bounced back from a reflector mounted opposite.

A retro-reflective sensor combines the emitter and receiver in a single housing; light bounces back to the receiver from a reflector mounted on the opposite side. Wiring is simpler than the through-beam type. Panasonic’s coaxial LS-H9x series, Omron’s E3Z-R series, and Telemecanique’s reflex XUB/XUM series models are used in line and door applications that need single-side mounting. Reflector type and sensing distance are chosen to match the application.

Telemecanique XU series — retro-reflective models (4)

Reflex and polarised-reflex models in XUK 50×50 compact and XUX 92×71 housings; DC and 24-240 V AC/DC versions. The multimode XUB0/XUM0/XUK0/XUX0 sensors also work in this mode with a reflector accessory (Diffuse card). Telemecanique’s single-mode XUB M18 reflex models are discontinued and not listed. Every model is verified from the manufacturer’s current catalogue.
