HIKROBOT MVAC-PY-FX453-43XP — Area Scan Cameras
12 MP, Sony IMX226, USB3.0, Color, 29.2 fps

The MVAC-PY-FX453-43XP is a 12 MP, 1/1.7″ CMOS color area-scan camera belonging to the USB3.0 family of the CU series. Its Sony® IMX226 rolling-shutter sensor reaches 29.2 fps at 4024 × 3036 in Bayer RG 8, with a 20 μs–0.5 s exposure span, 0–24 dB gain, 40.3 dB SNR and a 69.4 dB dynamic range. That combination lets one camera image bright objects with a short exposure and poorly lit ones with a long exposure and high gain, provided the scene stays still.
Because the camera can be powered from the USB3.0 port (typical 1.9 W at 5 VDC) no separate supply is required, though 9–24 VDC external power is also accepted and the interface is USB2.0 compatible. The 6-pin P7 connector offers one opto-isolated input (Line 0), one opto-isolated output (Line 1) and one bi-directional non-isolated line (Line 2). Its 29 × 29 × 30 mm footprint and roughly 76 g mass allow mounting on a robot arm or moving axis without adding significant load; IP40 protection, a customizable ROI, horizontal/vertical flipping and USB3 Vision / GenICam compliance round out the integration features listed on the data sheet.

Where it is used
Typical uses are color assembly verification in cells where a robot arm brings the part to the camera and holds it, checking color sequence in wire harnesses, and identifying color-coded components in medical device parts. Since the rolling-shutter sensor can distort a moving object, capture should occur once the arm has stopped or the part is fixed in a fixture. Exposures up to 0.5 seconds and 24 dB of gain help obtain a usable frame in dim corners of an enclosed cell where adding light is impractical.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
