The Omron E2B-S08KS02-MC-B1 is an E2B-series inductive proximity sensor with an M8 short housing in stainless steel (SUS 303) and a PBT sensing face, built for flush (shielded) mounting. The rated sensing distance (Sn) is 2 mm ±10% and the setting distance 0 to 1.6 mm. It is the double-distance (×2) shielded M8 E2B version; the single-distance version is rated at Sn 1.5 mm. The standard sensing object is a mild steel (ST37) plate of 8 × 8 × 1 mm; the average response frequency is 1,500 Hz and the differential travel at most 10% of the sensing distance.
Supply voltage is 10 to 30 V DC (including 10% peak-to-peak ripple) and current consumption 10 mA max. The PNP open-collector NO output switches up to 200 mA with a residual voltage of 2 V max. Between 60 and 70 °C the load current is limited to 100 mA. Reverse polarity, surge and short-circuit protection are built in. The sensor connects via a 3-pin M8 connector and has 4 yellow LEDs at 90° intervals. It is rated IP67 and operates from −25 to 70 °C. Overall length is 44 mm, thread length 27 mm and tightening torque 7 N·m.
