The XUVU06M3KSNM8 is a fork-shaped (thru-beam) sensor from Telemecanique Sensors' OsiSense XU packaging range that uses ultrasonic emission instead of light to detect labels passing through its 60 mm x 3 mm fork gap. Because detection relies on sound waves rather than optics, it reliably senses transparent, metallized, or irregularly shaped labels that would defeat a standard photoelectric label sensor. It is built for label-dispensing and packaging lines, offering a fast 0.3 ms response/recovery delay, PNP/NPN programmable NO/NC outputs, and an IP65 metal housing for durability on high-speed applicators. Per FST's classification rule, label/mark sensors are grouped under Photoelectric Sensors even when the technology is ultrasonic — Telemecanique itself lists this product under its "Photoelectric sensors XU" family.
