The MVL-AF4028M-M42 is a 40 mm Half Frame Lens with a wide F2.8-F22 aperture range, built on a Φ37 mm image circle that covers APS-C area scan and 4K line scan cameras. It combines a large aperture, low distortion, low chromatic aberration, and high relative illumination to target consistent image quality both wide open and stopped well down. The ability to close down to F22 makes it possible to achieve much greater depth of field when needed.

Where it is used
The 40 mm focal length suits inspection stations where the camera sits farther from the target and a narrower angle of view is used to capture more detail, such as mid-to-long working-distance precision measurement or assembly verification lines. Being able to stop down to F22 also helps keep parts with significant depth in sharp focus.
