Where it is used
The 30 mm focal length is suited to applications where the camera cannot get very close to the target for reasons of safety or physical access, yet a small area still needs detailed scrutiny. It fits tasks such as zooming in from a distance to check a precision mounting point or a marking on a small component. It also works on lines where the camera and the target sit at different levels or in separate enclosures, ruling out close-range mounting.
