Flat Light

A flat light offers a large, uniform emitting surface. Its most common use is as a backlight: the part is placed between the light and the camera, producing a sharp-edged silhouette. That silhouette gives pixel-level repeatability in dimensional measurement, which is why it underpins most measurement applications.
